component 1 evaluation
We explored the theme of constructed landscapes which at first i thought was going to be difficult however over time as i progressed i strated to understand and enjoy the theme. My ideas changed as i developed my ideas because i kept wanting to expand my ideas and futher them to get the best outcome. I was looking at uta barth and she helped me understand how sometimes only the light in the image is what matters and not alwasy needing a main focus or object. Ive worked on using the concept of light and how light can create an image without a subject which i used various different times when i was experimenting.
When i was working on constructed landscapes i tried to play with many different techniques like working in the dark room and even using digital cameras. I think using the various different techniques helped my ideas develop and make me become better at working in different scenarios and being able to adapt to those situations. I think what helped me is my evaluations as i was able to look back on my work and understand where i went wrong and how my work can futher develop into the final peice. For my final piece i was hoping to make a book or a video however i lacked the ideas to do so meaning i needed to learn how to plan my work as much as i can. I liked how overtime i was able to start writing more and more on my evaluation. I think the most important thing is have been persistent throughout the project and making sure i keep finishing my work.
I think my final outcome couldve have been different and much better due to the lack of thinking and planning on my behalf. I believe that the work i did produce was of high quality but could of been executed much better, i was hoping to make a sculpture however i struggled and couldnt complete it . I would say i have been quite successfull espically during the experimentations as it allowed me to grow my portfolio however i would say struggling at the end was the reason it didnt work. I was also hoping to make a stop motion of high quality but i lacked of the knowledge to do so. I think when it comes to my work i try to show the veiwers my life and what i do and take them on a journey throught my area.
I began this project by researching a variety of artists and photographers whose work expressed the theme of telling a story through there images like Tracey Mofatt and how should took images and overkayed it with writing which explained where the image is from. Her images are imaginative and skilful and I was keen to explore how to my photos turn out with sucha good meaning and not have a bad look on my work. The individual photograph that had the most effect on my own work was fr
I have explored a range of media, processes and techniques in this project including taking the photos in different ways at different times and in different places. I liked using my camera to take images out of focus and try to capture the light as much as i could. i selected the technique of using light because i think it came naturally to me being able understand what the light is going to do how its going to act and most importantly why do i need the light. I chose to work digitally and in the darkroom because i wanted to be able to have differen outcomes with different images. Throughout this project my work developed in a number of ways. For example when i tried constructing my own landscapes using paper and card out of the images i took which didnt come out perfect but gave me a few ideas. I have learned a number of new skills. These include how to take images out of focus how to construct a landscape and it helped me understand what an image means to me.
I am pleased with my final outcomes because they represent how I feel about the theme of constructed landscapes as i was able to work. I have chosen to display them in a particular way because they repesent different areas in my life. I hope that viewers of my final photographs will understand that these photos repesent me.
